About The Retreats

Attending a Learn Great Foods agri-culinary retreat weekend is a special event, for families, women's groups, friends, and couples. You are giving yourself an opportunity to learn and enjoy your time, taking something back to the city and your everyday life.  Come play with us!

Retreat cost includes a two-night stay, all meals, tours, and a cooking class- which adds up to food, fun, fellowship and relaxation! And if you're 2 busy 2 attend a weekend retreat, you can also attend just for the day on Saturday. Cost is $325 for the weekend or $95 for the day and evening meal. Single supplement is $50 for the weekend.

Our retreats are designed for those who want to "dive-in" to natural foods knowledge, practice hands-on learning (classes, walks, and tours), and question everything.

The retreats includes two nights accommodations.

The after-dinner fireplace chats are a special bonus of this get-away-from-routine weekend! The after-breakfast workshop discussions are a continuation of the far-ranging and intriguing Learn Great Foods dinner and fireplace discussions... held before embarking on the day's culinary farm tours...

Our tours visit farms, chocolate makers, specialty shops, and much more!

Whether touring buffalo and chicken farms, organic gardens, fisheries, coffee roasters, wineries, or specialty gourmet and natural foods markets, the knowledge and passion of "Up-North" Northern Michigan and Mississippi River Heartland culinary artisans is offered to you in two-day food adventures. Workshop presentations will lead to lively discussions of food security, food safety, organic suppliers, and the best way to start a bernaise sauce! And the cooking classes - and our focus on learning new culinary techniques and trying new organic ingredients (buffalo anyone?) from farms we have visited - make for a delicious, and nurturing, menu. You will find yourself well-fed, and well-versed in healthy eating ideas. You will find workshop presentations and chefs thoroughly enjoyable, and will NOT want to leave. But you can come again- You can tour with us next season!

The greatest gift you can give is the gift of Sustainability-

including Health and Great Foods. Invite a friend- invite your mom!- and join us for a fun-filled and eye-opening weekend.
