Started by Willi Lehner over twenty years ago near Blue Mounds, WI, the Bleu Mont Dairy is the vehicle for Lehner’s delicious artisan cheese. Lehner and the Dairy are committed to sustainable farming and renewable energy, a mission visible upon arrival in the wind generator that towers over the garlic fields. Lehner learned the craft of cheesemaking from his father, and has added to his years of knowledge during trips to England, where he learned from other cheddar artisans. The Dairy now houses a straw-bale cave in which Lehner can control humidity, temperature, and other factors vital to the proper aging of his cheese. In addition to cheese, the Dairy has a rotational organic field and orchard, which produces garlic and asparagus. Lehner’s cheeses are available at the Dane County Farmer’s Market.

Sustainable Farm Tour: Blue Mounds, Wisconsin
Meet at the Mustard Museum in Mt. Horeb, Wisc. to caravan to Bleu Mont Dairy. After the cheese tasting and tour at Bleu Mont Dairy, we caravan to the Grumpy Troll, for dinner with four courses paired with beers, followed by brewery tour.
